Rain makeup date! We are back for a second day of Leaf Fest.
Collaborate with community volunteers as we rake and collect leaves to be collected by DSNY and made into compost that support city-wide trees.
Composted leaves will eventually return to help enrich the soil of Astoria Park and other NYC Parks.
Meet up at the Field House near the Astoria Park track.
Astoria Park Alliance will provide gloves, tools, and training. Please come in closed-toe shoes, ready to work outdoors. Tools and gloves will be provided.
****Additionally, we would like to support Astoria Food Pantry at this time of year! Volunteers and park goers are encouraged to bring shelf stable items for donation to the event, which APA will collect and donate to Astoria Food Pantry.****
